World Diabetes Day which falls on November 14 of every year was observed by the Department of Community Medicine, IQCMCH at Rural Health and Training Centre(RHTC), Baidyanathpur and Urban Health and Training Centre(UHTC),Bengal Ambuja,Durgapur.
As a part of the awareness and celebration programme, the event was started with Welcome address and Introductory speech by Prof(Dr.) Raghunath Misra, Principal and HOD, Department of Community Medicine, IQCMCH. Free diabetes screening camp was organized at the Health Centres (UHTC and RHTC) and at the field practice areas. 100 participants from the field practice areas were screened for Diabetes and 150 people participated in the awareness programme which included health talk by the Post Graduate Trainees, Faculties and Medical Officers,Poster presentation and Role play depicting various important aspect of Diabetes Mellitus like risk factor,diet,preventive measures by the Internees.
