Workshop On Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
IQ City Medical College, Durgapur conducted a two-day Workshop on Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) on 10th and 11th April 2025, jointly organised by IQ City Medical College and IQ City Medical College Hospital. The workshop provided students and healthcare participants with critical, hands-on training in life-saving emergency cardiac care techniques.
Cardiac emergencies demand swift, skilled intervention — and this workshop was designed to build exactly that capability. Over two intensive days, participants were trained in structured protocols for recognising and responding to life-threatening cardiac conditions, with a strong emphasis on practical skill-building rather than theory alone.
The sessions included hands-on practice on high-fidelity mannequins, where participants performed chest compressions, bag-mask ventilation, and airway management under close faculty supervision. Teams worked through simulated cardiac arrest scenarios, applying BCLS and ACLS algorithms in real time — mirroring the pressures and decision-making demands of an actual emergency. The active, scenario-based format ensured that every participant left with muscle memory and confidence, not just classroom knowledge.
The workshop drew enthusiastic participation from students across batches, all of whom engaged with visible energy and focus. The concluding session brought everyone together for a group photograph and certificate distribution, marking the successful completion of what was evidently a high-impact learning experience.
This initiative is a reflection of IQ City Medical College's broader commitment to clinical excellence and student preparedness. Training future doctors in emergency response skills from early in their careers is central to our philosophy — because in medicine, the ability to act decisively in a crisis can mean the difference between life and death.
