Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health and are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological conditions. Treatment approaches may involve medications, psychotherapy (talk therapy), or a combination of both. In some cases, advanced treatments like electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or newer neuromodulation techniques may be used. Psychiatry plays a vital role in promoting mental well-being and supporting individuals to lead functional, healthy lives.
